MDI to provide Properties Plus® program for Missouri State Lottery

Alpharetta, GA – October 31, 2011 – MDI Entertainment, LLC, a subsidiary of Scientific Games Corporation (NASDAQ:SGMS), today announced that it will be providing its Properties Plus loyalty rewards program to the Missouri Lottery. The program was included as an option in a recently signed instant ticket agreement between the Lottery and Scientific Games, and the Lottery has decided to exercise that option.![]()
As part of the agreement, MDI will be providing upgrades and enhancements to the existing “My Lottery” players’ club web site, including the addition of MDI’s Points for Prizes® player loyalty rewards program. The Lottery also will receive Scientific Games’ patent-pending Easy Entry™ system, which allows players to enter non-winning instant tickets to accumulate points that can be redeemed for rewards in the Points for Prizes store.
“The Missouri Lottery will be the fourth lottery to begin offering our Points for Prizes program to their players,” said Steve Saferin, President, Properties Group and Chief Creative Officer for Scientific Games. “Loyalty rewards programs are everywhere — from the hospitality and travel industries to banking and retail. Our experience strongly suggests that they have an important place in our industry too. It’s our belief that offering a rewards program will result in stronger relationships with players and, ultimately, greater returns to good causes, such as education in Missouri.”
The Properties Plus program was first introduced in 2009 in Arkansas and was launched recently by the Iowa Lottery. Earlier this year, the Tennessee Education Lottery signed a contract to launch the program. Properties Plus is expected to be available on the Missouri Lottery’s web site in the spring of 2012.
“We see great value in the Properties Plus and the Points for Prizes programs, and feel certain our players will too,” said May Scheve Reardon, Executive Director of the Missouri State Lottery. “The diverse selection of rewards that Points for Prizes offers has something for everyone, from the player who seeks the immediate gratification of being rewarded with music downloads or e-books to the player who patiently builds his points total, with plans to redeem those points for higher value rewards, including gift cards that can be used for a variety of items.”
The Points for Prizes store features a large and diverse assortment of merchandise, and includes MDI’s Lottery Music Store, which soon will offer apps, e-books and Facebook game credits, in addition to the millions of music downloads currently available. As part of the Properties Plus agreement, the Missouri Lottery also will have access to MDI’s extensive portfolio of licensed properties for use on instant tickets and related promotional items, including point of sale materials and interactive web-based games. Other animated games will be made available to the Lottery as well, for use on the Lottery’s web site as 2nd Chance Games or “just for fun” games.
