Awards
Guy Simonis Lifetime Achievement Award
Introduced in 2000, this award recognizes outstanding service and commitment to the lottery industry by an individual. The first recipient of the award was Guy Simonis himself. The other recipients are:
- Dr. Ed Stanek (2010), co-inventor of Powerball.
- Ray Bates (2008), former CEO of the Irish national lottery and former president of the European lottery association.
- Richard Frigren (2006), former CEO of Tipstjänst lottery and former president of Intertoto.
- Lothar Lammers (2004), the father of the modern lotto game.
- Dan Bower (2002), co-founder of Scientific Games.
WLA Advertising Awards
The WLA Advertising Awards honor outstanding lottery advertising from around the world and are presented at the biennial WLA Convention and Trade Show. All the winning entries since 1999 can be viewed and all the commercials in competition for the latest
