Responsible Gaming
Doing the right thing for players and the broader community has made Corporate Social Responsibility a priority for the World Lottery Association (WLA). As government-controlled gaming operators, WLA members have always played a leadership role in addressing responsible gaming issues. This leadership role shall now also be demonstrated by WLA Associate members as critical suppliers to WLA Members.
With this in mind, in 2015, the WLA published a Standard on Responsible Gaming for Associate Members to embed Responsible Gaming in all aspects of their operations.
The standard was reviewed and updated in 2024 by external stakeholders, such as gaming treatment organizations, academics, as well as experts in the field of standard setting and corporate social responsibility.

When preparing your WLA certification submission, please note that your responses must reflect your company’s actual practices, processes, and context. You should avoid generic or overly broad statements. Any assertion you make should be backed by concrete data, documentation, examples that demonstrate its validity. What matters is demonstrating progress over time and a clear commitment to improvement. The focus should be made on meaningful actions and measurable outcomes rather than superficial descriptions. Depth and relevance are more important than volume or wording.
AI is a helpful tool, and you may use it to facilitate drafting your submission, but the panel always prioritizes substantive details and evidence of impact over polished phrasing. Submissions consisting of obvious AI-generated content without supporting evidence will be discarded.
